Description:

Ama Rio, a reporter for the local news station, sat inside of a nondescript suburban home. She was here to investigate a string of recent robberies that had rattled this otherwise quiet neighborhood. Her next segment would feature an unsuspecting Mia, who lived just a few doors down from the latest victim. Mia, a young woman in her early thirties sat next to Ama into her living room. Ama began the interview by recounting the details of the robberies: how thieves had been breaking into homes in broad daylight, stealing valuables, and tying up any witnesses they encountered. Mia's eyes widened with fear as she realized how close she'd come to being a victim herself. Ama sensed Mia's unease and decided to demonstrate how the robbers were tying their victims up. "It's for the viewers," she said reassuringly, but Mia hesitated nonetheless. After some coaxing, Mia reluctantly agreed to let Ama demonstrate on her. The camera zoomed in as Ama deftly bound Mia's wrists behind her back with a length of rope. Mia squirmed uncomfortably, but Ama assured her it was for educational purposes only. "We want our viewers to know what to expect if they ever find themselves in this situation," she explained.

After a moment of struggling that Ama deemed sufficient for the cameras, she relented and untied Mia with an apologetic smile. "Sorry about that," she said. "But I think our viewers got the point."
Mia rubbed her wrists, trying to regain her composure as Ama turned back to the camera. "As you can see—" she began, but her words were cut short by a sharp yank on her own arm. Startled, she whirled around to find a masked intruder standing behind her. He motioned for her to be quiet. The world seemed to slow down for Mia as she realized that this was no longer a staged demonstration. The man bound and gagged both women before ransacking the house. When he was done, he left them bound and gagged on chairs disappearing into the night as quickly as he'd come. It wasn't until much later that help arrived—a concerned neighbor who had seen the unscheduled news segment airing on a loop and called 9111.*
