At Sam Ace’s private investigation company, low-level employees Ama Rio and London Evans compete for a single opening as a full-fledged private investigator. Having aced the initial interview, they arrive at Sam’s home for the final, unconventional test to determine who’s best suited for the role. Sam, reading a newspaper, greets them at the door, pleased by their punctuality. He notes their practical attire for the fieldwork-focused challenge: Ama, with her field experience, wears skinny jeans, heels, and a tight crop-top muscle t-shirt, while London, more office-oriented, sports a summery bodice-style mini dress and sandals. In the living room, Sam explains that female PIs face the risk of being captured, bound, and gagged—a reality they must handle skillfully. The winner of a series of challenges will secure the coveted position. Though surprised, both women, driven by ambition, agree to proceed.Sam begins the first challenge, testing their “mobility and drive.” Ama and London, seated on a couch with wrists bound behind their backs and ankles tied with white nylon rope, must retrieve a cell phone from a table in the next room. The first to grab it wins; if neither succeeds before a timer runs out, no one does. At Sam’s “go,” both women struggle to stand. London kicks off her sandals for a quick lead, but Ama discards her heels and hops closely behind. After intense effort, London seizes the phone first, earning Sam’s congratulations.Next, in the bedroom, still bound at wrists and ankles, the women face a communication test to assess their ability to be understood while gagged. Sam lays out gagging materials: ankle socks, duct tape, self-adhesive bandage wrap, and black electrical tape. He stuffs socks into each woman’s mouth, seals them with three strips of duct tape, wraps bandage tape five or six times over, and adds six turns of electrical tape. The camera captures close-ups and varied angles of the meticulous gagging. Using a phone decibel meter, Sam has each woman yell, “Untie me now, freak!” through their gags, noting their volume. They then attempt a longer sentence: “I’m tougher than you think, and I’ll escape this mess!” Sam evaluates clarity and loudness, declaring Ama the winner for her louder, clearer delivery.For the final challenge, Ama and London lie face-down on the bed, wrists and ankles bound with white rope, now pulled into tight hogties with additional rope connecting wrists to ankles. A small rope ties their big toes together, and another links their feet to their hair, forcing their heads up. Still gagged as before, they glare at Sam, visibly frustrated. Close-ups and full-body shots highlight their intricate bonds as Sam explains that the first to fully untie and ungag themselves wins the PI position. If they struggle too long, he’ll loosen the hogtie ropes slightly, but they must escape unassisted otherwise. As Sam starts the timer, both women writhe intensely, their struggles captured from multiple angles. After a few minutes with no progress, Sam loosens their hogtie ropes, and they resume. Neck and neck, they methodically undo their bonds, removing toe ties and gags last, finishing within seconds of each other. Sam declares a tie, unable to choose a winner, and suggests a tiebreaker round.Exhausted and exasperated, Ama and London exchange a knowing glance. They grab the ropes from the bed, and Ama declares, “A good PI knows how to tie their captor when the tables turn. Looks like we’ll both win this round.” With wicked smiles, they approach a startled Sam, ropes in hand, ready to turn the challenge on him.
